BRUSSELS — The Belgian winners of the Euro Millions Jackpot — good for EUR 34 million — reported to lottery officials on Monday afternoon.
The National Lottery identified the winners as a couple aged in their 50s with two children from the Ghent area.
The couple — who want to remain anonymous — bought their Quick Pick ticket for EUR 2 while on a short holiday in Blankenberge.
The couple have bought a Quick Pick ticket every week for the past six months, news agency Belga reported.
They have not yet decided what they will do with the money, opting first to think it through for a couple of months.
The EUR 34.204 million in prize money was the second-largest cash prize in the history of Belgian lottery and one of the largest Euro Millions jackpots in Europe.
On 31 March, a Brussels couple aged in their 30s won a record EUR 75 million.
The total jackpot in last Friday's draw was EUR 68.4 million. It will be divided between the Ghent couple and a Swiss winner.
