Annual Belgian beauty competition cancelled.

No Miss Belgian Beauty this year.

The man behind the competition, Ignace Combé, announced to the commercial radio station Q-music on Thursday that the Miss Belgian Beauty pageant would not be organised this year.

Last year, 23 year old Yoni Mous won the title. The competition received bad press because in previous years Mr Crombé was said to have been too close to several candidates.

Pre-selections planned for March were shelved. This announcement comes as bad news for the crowds on the coast who will not be able to see the Miss Belgian Beauty road show, which usually tours seaside resorts.

Miriam Jacques, Mr Combé's ex-wife after a messy divorce, is now considering staging a beauty competition of her own.
