7 million euros for "factory of the future"
Flemish Minister-President Kris Peeters CD&V has earmarked 7 million euros for industry projects and business partnerships as a part of the development towards the “factory of the future”. With collaboration, greening and renewed labour relations as pivotal points, subsidies will be awarded to businesses to develop new production models based on innovation or to campaigns to promote the idea or to provide information about it. This project will bring the factory of the future much closer to realisation and the concept is in line with the government of Flanders’ “new industrial policy” which is set to offset the losses suffered by Flemish industry. The government of Flanders intends to strengthen the position of the industry with more investments in sustainability, innovation and collaboration. The initiative enjoys the support of the Industrial Council, a council of experts led by Wouter De Geest, CEO of BASF.
