Emma Parker, a young English woman, had grown tired of her life in London. With no love prospects in sight, her career a stalemate and even urban London looking lack-luster, she decided to make the leap abroad. Her destination: Brussels, Belgium. With nothing more than her savings and a two-week hotel reservation, Emma set off…

The first week was exhilarating, of course. She explored the city, checking out little bistros and museums and visiting the famous EU headquarters.
