Winter in Belgium 17/01/2006 00:00
The crisp wintry weather has proven a perfect opportunity for some picturesque and contrasting photos. Here is the latest edition to our series of expat photos.

Just after New Year we travelled by train to Brugge for a few days. It was freezing, but beautiful. The photos include a couple from the 'Snow and Ice' show at Brugge — a huge refrigerated tent supposedly at minus 6 degrees Celsius, but felt more like about minus 15. Getting out into just about zero weather outside felt warm!

Having relocated to the Ardennes from Spain, it was a bit of a shock to note the weather change in a two-hour period [November 2005]. I hadn't seen real snow for some seven years and when digging the car out, I did ask the question: "Why am I here?" If there is anyone out there who lives in the Ardennes and wants to get together for an English chat and a drink let me know. Thanks.
