What was your first impression of Belgium?
I was amazed that summer was so hot and daylight lasted almost over 23 hrs.

What do you think of the food?
I miss more vegetarian restaurants. I also adore waffles, chocolate and beer, and have found a great restaurant where everything is cooked with beer. Great!

What do you think of the shopping in Belgium?
I`d prolong the opening hours a bit. I especially like the furniture on Rue Haute, the fashion at quartier Danseart and Belgian-6 designers.

What do you appreciate about living in Belgium?
The multicultural environment of Brussels and also its location -- it's close to other great cities such as Amsterdam, Paris, London and Cologne. I like the architecture and the very good transport system.

What do you find most frustrating about living in Belgium?
The weather and too many cigarette-beggers.

What puzzles you about Belgium and what do you miss since you’ve moved here?
Why Wallons and Flamish can`t find a way to appreciate each other and their cultures.

How does the quality of life in Belgium compare to the quality of life in other countries that you’ve lived in?
In Slovenia, where I come from, access to nature is really easy. Also, it is almost impossible to rollerskate on the streets of Brussels. I miss that the most. On the other hand, the cultural life on offer here is amazing and can`t be compared to my home country.

If you could change anything about Belgium, what would it be?
The climate and political issues between two nations.

What advice would you give to a newcomer?
Discover the rich culture, history and everything this country offers.
