"No exotic personnel for Deutsche Bank" 04/10/2007 00:00

BRUSSELS – The Socialist PS plans to submit a series of proposals to combat discrimination on the labour market. The party's plans come in response to a report about an internal email from an employment agency which reportedly indicates that Deutsche Bank does not want the agency to send it any "exotic personnel."
The PS says that these kinds of incidents remind us that discrimination in recruitment is a reality. The francophone socialists say it is time to take concrete action rather than just stop at good intentions.
The PS is asking for the compulsory use of anonymous CVs at all (local) governments and at businesses that employ more than 50 people. Consultation with the social partners should also lead to mandatory diversity plans at the governments and these larger businesses. The plans should aim to make the workplace a more accurate reflection of society.
