LILLE, France, March 25, 2008 - A circus big top collapsed Sunday in
northern France due to the weight of falling snow, but heavy injuries were
avoided by the evacuation of the audience and performers, firemen said.
The Zavatta circus was forced to interrupt its show and evacuate the 150
people present when they realised the big top was struggling to support the
added weight of several centimetres (inches) of freshly fallen snow, they said.
The large tent, erected near Saint Martin-Boulogne in the Pas-de-Calais
region, collapsed soon after, lightly injuring one person.

I'm glad of anything that interrupts their performances. No-one should support these cruel circuses. Animals like lions and tigers deserve to live in the wild, not in cages for our amusement.
