German take-over of Brussels Airlines? 30/04/2008 00:00
Handelsblatt says that Lufthansa is interested in taking over the Belgian airliner Brussels Airlines.
The German daily Handelsblatt writes that the German airliner Lufthansa is interested in taking over the Belgian airliner Brussels Airlines.
Lufthansa is looking to consolidate its position within Europe. Brussels Airlines is reportedly top on the list of airliners Lufthansa is interested in.
The spokesman of Brussels Airlines is not commenting, allegedly so as not to influence the quotation price of Lufthansa shares on the stock exchange.
It has been common knowledge for a while that Brussels Airlines is holding talks with some large airline groups.
Until now however there has been only talk of cooperation, not of an actual take-over.
