European Union foreign ministers are to take the train to their next summit together
European Union foreign ministers are to take the train to their next summit together, which is to be held in the southern French town of Avignon, the daily Le Parisien reported.
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner had come out in favour of the environmentally-friendly means of travel as the journey would give his counterparts the opportunity for informal discussions, the report added.
France's high-speed train, the TGV, would be chartered from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris to Avignon, for the 700-kilometre journey which would take around three hours.
The date for the annual meeting of EU foreign ministers has not yet been set. dpa
