Cycling: O'Grady to race in Australia 03/01/2008 00:00
Australian cyclist is back to full fitness
PARIS, January 2, 2008 - Australian cyclist Stuart O'Grady is back to
full fitness and will compete in the Australian National Championship on
January 13, his CSC team announced on Wednesday.
Last year's Paris to Roubaix winner was badly injured when he fell during
the 8th stage of the Tour de France, breaking several ribs and did not compete
again until the Herald Sun Tour in October.
"I do not know if I am capable of winning, but I would like to be up with
the leaders," he said.
"I would like to win Roubaix again but it really is a very unique race.
Last April it was 27 degrees, but this year it could be raining and seven
degrees. That's just the beauty of Paris-Roubaix."
The Australian National Championship road race will be held at Ballarat
over 163.2 kilometres. The time-trial over 39 kilometres is on January 10.
