BELGIUM - Sporting Anderlecht has made it to the final of this season's Belgian Cup.
After having won the first leg of their semi-final tie against Germinal Beerschot 1-0, a 1-1 draw in the second leg was enough for Ariel Jacobs' men.
Anderlecht will take on AA Gent in the final that will be held in the King Bouwdewijn Stadium in Brussels on 18 May.
With Anderlecht being 1-0 up from the first leg, Germinal Beerschot needed to go on the offensive if they were going to salvage anything from the tie.
Nevertheless, it was Anderlecht that had the lion's share of the chances early on.
Hassan, Frutos and Legaer all had chances for Anderlecht.
They were also denied a clear penalty after Germinal Beerschot's Monteyne brought down an Anderlecht player inside the box.
The Rats didn't let this make them give up hope and they turned up the pressure during the dying minutes of the first half.
Proto was forced to save efforts from Malki and Ederson, but was unable to stop Colman's effort on the stroke of half time.
Germinal Beerschot were one up on the night.
With a 1-1 aggregate score, suddenly the pressure was on Anderlecht.
Despite Germinal Beerschot looking the more dangerous team early in the second half, it was Anderlecht that scored through substitute Vleck.
Despite several good efforts by Malki and Colman for Germinal Beerschot, it remained 1-1 on the night.
Anderlecht won the tie 2-1 on aggregate.
